Show#2: Have you ever thought about running for public office?
Welcome! This week's question is: Have you ever thought about running for public office? This week we will talk with Dr. Valerie Weber, running for State Senate in Nevada, about the process of running for public office on the November Ballot. We have a wonderful opportunity to look at failure through the eyes of an experienced politician as well as doctoral scholar and experienced college professor.
Failure can be thought of as simply another way to create a process for thinking. As part of my first book: The Refractive Thinker Vol 1: An Anthology of Higher Learning: I wrote Chapter 10: Fail Faster Succeed Sooner—the inspiration for this show. If thinking is inside the box, and critical thinking is outside the box, then refractive thinking is what lies beyond the box, what if it isn't a box at all? The idea is how do we think through the process of choice for the philosophy of problem solving. Learning through failure is key to how one learns to become an expert.
